Watch satellite TV on PC after dinner? This is a sentence that is all too familiar in the homes of Americans. In fact, the rest of the world is also doing the same, that is, to watch satellite TV on PC. We will take a closer look at why it is so wildly popular among TV viewers today.
This âWatch Satellite TV on PCâ craze will continue to spread like wildfire for several main reasons amidst many other reasons. The first being it is powered on software that can be downloaded from the internet easily. Most homes in developed countries have at least a computer and so, the first criterion of watching satellite TV on PC is easily fulfilled. Next, there are close to a billion internet users today based on a recent survey conducted. This is a penetration rate of close to 17% of the world population, meaning only 1 out of every 6 people in the world surfs the net. This figure is expected to rise, and given ample time, the PC satellite TV business would grow exponentially. Here are the benefits to watch satellite TV on PC explained in detail.
1. Simple Software Installation
To watch satellite TV on PC beats the old method of watching TV using satellite dish. With the software, you no longer need to mess with the satellite dish installation which can be a real headache.
2. Thousands of TV Stations
On top of that, you get to tune into a long list of national and international TV stations offering a host of programs from sports news to entertainment programs, movies and TV shows. Your kids stand to benefit as well because of the many cartoons and even games that can be played online. All you need to do is to select the TV channel of your choice and the screen automatically refreshes itself and display the program in full audio and video effect.
3. Easy Channel Management
Just like your TV where you can store the channels, you can add bookmarks, and manage all the channels using your software interface. You would be surprised at how TV channel management can be so easy and organized. You would be able to see each stationâs name and description and recent updates.
4. Low Pricing
The price to watch satellite TV on PC is only the cost of the software. There are no installation fees, monthly subscription or pay per view charges. You would not be charged for future additions of new TV programs. The affordability of this proprietary software has indeed won over many TV viewers.
Find out through my blog how you too can benefit from all the above features and make it a truly enjoyable experience to watch satellite TV on PC.

Broadcasting FTA (Free To Air) satellite services throughout Australia, Optus Aurora has been a god send to people in rural and outback areas as well as the caravan and motorhome community.
The purchase and activation of an Optus Aurora Smart Card gives the owner access to many ABC and SBS services from around Australia. Imparja, Seven Central, GWN and WIN services are also available in their respective license areas.
Wondering what equipment you’ll need to receive FTA Satellite TV Services to either a rural residence or a caravan / motorhome ? The basic elements that make up a satellite TV system are:-
1- Satellite Dish
2- Satellite Dish Mount (portable or fixed is fine)
3- LNB (low noise block amplifier * Goes on the arm of the dish)
4- Satellite Receiver (many brands and versions available * Shop around for a suitable well priced model)
5- Satellite Finder (analogue and digital varieties * Analogue though generally cheaper)
6- Satellite Charts
Choosing the right satellite dish for your site is the most important factor. Dishes come in various sizes ranging from very small (in the centimeters) to many meters. In recent times with the increase in satellite transmission power people are able to get away with a much smaller dish then they did in the past.
Typical size for coverage in many areas is 78 to 88 cm s. (for the KU band * If you are a beginner to satellite I recommend KU reception if it is available in your area. For those that have an interest in C band reception you will generally need a much larger dish. eg Greater then 1.5m for many areas)
The LNB is the part on the end of the arm. It amplifies the very weak signals that are collected and reflected into it by the dish. This signal once amplified, is carried down the satellite cable to the satellite receiver. Here it is converted into a signal that your conventional television can understand.
It should be noted that many of the available services from the satellites are encrypted to prevent theft. These services will generally require a monthly or annual subscription for their reception. If you are intending to view these ensure your satellite receiver has an imbedded card reader or Cam Slot and can decrypt the services you are interested in. (you should also check your providers terms and conditions or service agreement to ensure that what you are hoping to achieve would not violate them)
The satellite finder and charts are only used during the initial installation until you have a picture. The finder can then be removed. Your local satellite parts dealer will be best able to advise on the correct equipment and alignment procedures for your area. For people installing to the roof ensure you take all the necessary safety precautions. (You are competent right?)
Satellite television is an extremely popular way to watch an array of hundreds of stations. The one downside to satellite is that it can be pricey depending on the program that you set up. What if there was a way to receive all of the satellite stations without having to pay an expensive bill? To your benefit, with ongoing technological development you can now receive Satellite TV from your PC for a small price to pay.
There now is a way for you to have Satellite TV from your computer without paying a penny for the stations themselves. The only fee to have access to hundreds of channels is the price of software that is required to get them working on your computer. You may think that the software is going to jack the prices up to around the range of Satellite TV, but that is where you are wrong.
For less than the cost of a monthly cable or Satellite TV bill, you can watch Satellite TV on your computer. There are a number of different kinds of software to choose from that work for your computer. The difference between the software is how much range you get and how many stations you have access to. The best Satellite TV software on the market will give you access to over 3000 worldwide channels without a monthly fee.
Ditch your television antenna today and make the investment in a quality portable satellite tv system package or build your own. You won’t be disappointed.

There is nothing like the clear, digital signal from a satellite tv system, with a plethora of channels, programming options and few service interruptions. Programming choices offer something of interest for everyone in the household.
There is little difference in the satellite tv system offered by different companies, with the exception of customer service. Whichever service you are the happiest with is the one you should choose for you. There are, however specific needs to receive programming on a digital satellite tv.
The first obviously is a satellite dish. These are normally provided by the satellite tv system company, along with a receiver into which to connect the satellite. The typical satellite will have what is called a Dual LNB, which in non-tech speak means there are two coaxial cables connected to the satellite. This is necessary if you plan to watch one program while recording a second one. The satellite also needs to be pointed to the unseen satellite in the sky. The proper direction will depend on your location.
Along with the Dual LNB satellite, you will need a second receiver if you are going to have more than one television on which to watch programs. With the second receiver hooked to your satellite tv system, you can watch separate programs on both television sets. A phone line is also needed to connect to the receivers, to receive programming updates.
A satellite TV system used to be an expensive, truly envisioned luxurious service in the past. Currently it is quite affordable and plenty of consumers prefer it, above the cost of the cable television wish has been steadily rising from some time. The subscribers of satellite television receive high quality, digital signal and some service packages come out with plenty of additional services included in the price (internet access, radio, etc). Some of the prime advantages from a user point of view, of the satellite TV is that it offers additional data about shows, a special feature unavailable in traditional cable television.
Many people have significant concerns about the reliability of the satellite signal. Satellite television is very reliable.
Choose Self Or Professional Installation
If you are the handy type and know how to run wires through your house, you can opt to make the wiring installation on your own. If not, you will ask for professional satellite tv system installation. This involves running coaxial cables from the satellite to the receivers. Presuming a two-television set-up, two cables are run from the satellite to a splitter inside the house.
The splitter has room for two inputs from the dish, and four outputs, two to each television. Both cables are then run from the splitter to each respective television. These will connect to the two inputs on satellite tv system receiver. The receiver has one output to the television, but you can watch one channel and record a second at the same time on both televisions.
With the units installed and all the cables and phone lines connected, you must contact the satellite tv system provider and establish an account. Once you choose your programming and your account is activated, you will have access to whatever level programming you selected.

Watch satellite TV or should you go for cable TV? This long-drawn question or rather debate has been on for years. Perhaps a little more research and comparison of the two can help you to decide whether you should watch satellite TV or go for cable TV. People go for different things when they are making a choice as to whether satellite TV or cable TV is more suitable for them and their families. Essentially, there are some clues or features that differentiate the two and you can actually use them for comparison before making a final conclusion if to watch satellite TV is better for you.
Satellite TV and Cable TV can be compared generally in terms of the quality of the picture, program variety, control and interface functions, pricing, bundled package and the availability of the system. Now, sometimes it is not really a choice for you whether to watch satellite TV or cable TV.
Let me explain. Take for instance, you want to watch cable TV but the place you stay does not have a cable network. Simply put, you can only watch satellite TV programs then. But folks who enjoy cable TV also could face difficulties if they decide to switch to satellite TV. If you live in a built-up urbanized district with many high-rise buildings, your satellite dish system could be obstructed and fail to receive well. Likewise, your home may be a rented place and your landlord refuses to permit any external fixtures. So be sure to check this out first.
Satellite TV and cable TV competes fiercely on almost everything we mentioned earlier. They try to outdo one another by offering more feature-packed controls, cheaper installation and equipment, more TV programs and variety, special bundled deals with hand phones and phone lines, thrown-in gifts, steeper discounts and loyalty rewards for renewing contracts. They have probably done anything you have known on earth to keep their subscribers and to win over those from the other side. Consumers who watch satellite TV or cable TV benefits in the end. Do not feel embarrassed about approaching the satellite TV and cable TV service providers and negotiate with them for better deals. You would be pleasantly surprised that sometimes, they are more than willing to offer you unadvertised goodies.
Some folks watch satellite TV and cable TV or at some point have tried both before. The general consensus is that satellite TV tends to be richer in the TV program quality. Satellite TV offers many international programs and the program spectrum is wide, covering educational programs, entertainment in the form of movies, sports events, and world news and current affairs. The language choices also meant that foreigners or people across the globe can watch satellite TV channels more readily than cable TV.
Satellite TV systems typically are more feature-packed and offer more control functions than cable TV. Subscriptions for satellite TV services are also much cheaper than cable TV. However, there are also areas where cable TV surpasses satellite TV. The setup of a satellite dish system can be rather complicated and the application is less preferred in urban cities where view of the clear sky is limited. Cable TV setup on the other hand is simple and hassle-free.
Be sure to compare the two types of TV systems before coming to a decision. There is now a third choice which is to watch satellite TV on PC using a piece of software which can be downloaded at my blog for quick installation. You can be watching satellite TV from a selection of hundreds of TV channels in the next hour from now.

1994 is a year that should be in the minds of all televisions lovers, as that was the year Directv began their revolutionary new service that would change satellite television to the widely loved and available phenomenon that it is today. For the first time, satellite viewers were able to use an 18 inch satellite dish and receive their transmissions in fully digital form. While most popular initially with rural folks who could not receive cable, even urban people soon realized that satellite television offered many advantages over what they had been watching. Directv presently has over 14 million customers experiencing the high technological quality and diverse programming that are only offered through satellite TV.
To bring transmissions into your home, Direct TV has a fleet of high energy, photovoltaic satellites in a geosynchronous orbit around Earth. Hundreds of programming providers send their content to one of the company’s broadcasting stations which then digitalizes and encrypts the signals and transmits them to the satellites. From the orbiting satellites far up in space the signals are relayed to individual satellite dishes with cutting edge technology ensuring perfect reception. Through the receiver, given to you during the initial installation, the satellite signals are then translated into a form viewable on your television. Because Direct TV has multiple broadcasting stations and orbiting satellites, it is always able to broadcast clear signals and provide the clearest possible reception to the individual viewer.
For individual subscribers, this technology means that Directv is able to offer tons of choices in programming and a great quality picture. For a low monthly fee, the Total Choice introductory package offers 155 channels, including local programming in most areas and XM commercial free radio. The next package option, Total Choice Plus offers 30 extra channels including such favorites as Fox Movie Channel and Nicktoons. The Total Choice Premier package contains an amazing 250 channels with all your favorite movie and sports channels. For people looking for just a small selection at a low price, Family Choice provides programming for the entire family including general family entertainment, children’s networks and religious programming. With each package offering diverse and interesting choices at varying costs, everyone should be able to find a perfect match. And specialty programming can be added to any package. These exciting options include such shows as NFL Sunday Ticket and NBA League Pass, which are offered only on Directv.
Direct TV brings advanced technology into your home with innovations such as the DVR. A recorder that is electronically interfaced with your satellite system, the DVR allows you to record up to 100 hours of programming and 2 channels at one time. This means you can watch one station and record another favorite show at the same time. This technology also changes the way you view live television as it allows you to pause, rewind and replay anything you are watching. Other features include parental controls that give parents the ability to limit children’s viewing based on channel, specific show or time. Also, standard with each system, a programmable on-screen program guide makes it easy to find out what is playing. In addition to these benefits, Directtv provides HD programming and Internet services.
Satellite television has changed Americans’ expectations of TV viewing and made entertainment and information easier to get and more pleasant than ever. Direct TV has led the way in creating innovative new technology and bringing these advances to individual customers. With a combination of the latest technology, great customer service, and unbelievable programming, it is no surprise that Direct TV is the largest satellite TV provider today.
With great programming, state of the art technology and the convenience that comes with it, combined with great customer service, it’s no wonder Directtv is the nation’s leading satellite TV provider. This is the end of your search for . Switch to the best. Start today.

Undoubtedly over a course of several years, many people have swapped television service providers â cable to satellite and back to cable again. Comcast Cable Service, with its early beginnings in 1963, is now the top leader in cable technology and television services in the world. Continuing research and development of digital technology enable Comcast to provide innovative programming and more choices through television, telecommunications, or internet services. Their main interest is in enabling people to stay connected with family, friends, and business associates.
Cable television altered home entertainment for the better decades ago and was beginning to see the migration of many subscribers to satellite television services. Advances in technology have allowed Comcast and others to compete technologically, and now there are no services offered by satellite companies that are not also offered by Comcast. They go a step further and offer the quickest internet connections, the clearest phone connections, and the best digital television services on the market today. They have succeeded in being a step ahead of others with millions of people switching back to digital cable delivery for all their home technology needs. There is very little difference, if any, in the charges for television, internet, and telephone services delivered through cable vs. satellite, but there is a big difference in the quality of services. Comcast offers excellent customer service in addition to the quickest internet connection rates, the greatest number of television channels, and clarity of telephonic communications â all at one great low monthly price. Service bundling is the current trend in the United States, and this is great for the budget-minded consumer who desires to sign one check per month for all basic services. It is a time-saver and a money-saver because Comcast can work with other companies to provide an excellent monthly rate for their subscribers. The quality and delivery of television programming has improved dramatically with digital delivery. Imagery is excellent with accompanying CD-quality sound, and Comcast offers more than 275 channels of popular programming in incremental packages. Each package includes all local channels, news, sports, movies, childrenâs entertainment, music, and more. There is something to interest each member of the family plus the availability of HD programming and On-Demand (similar to Pay-Per-View). On-Demand has the distinct feature of the viewer being able to pause the program and resume or rewind without losing a second of the broadcast. The On-Screen Program guide is a great help in browsing channels for program choices, and the Parental Control Guide enables one to have full control over what and when a program is shown in the home. Simply block inappropriate programming using ratings, titles, content, times, or dates. Internet accessibility is always ON and is a hundred times faster than DSL or dialup connections. It provides full website accessibility plus all the capabilities to download music, movies, data files, photos, and more. Comcast offers computer protection from Spyware and Adware plus additional software to prevent identity theft and other intrusions into personal information. Telephone plans offer great incentives â local and long distance calling within the United States and Canada for one flat monthly rate plus international calls at fees lower than other companies. Digital telephone services result in clearer person to person connections/conversations.
Comcast is providing millions with reasons to revert back to cable television services. If you is in search of quality and more affordable services, Comcast cable is the provider of choice. The old saying of âwhat goes around comes aroundâ is certainly true with Comcast Cable Service. They have been there, done that, and are still providing excellent services.
